Inside Higher Ed is seeking a Medical Records Assistant to join their team in Philadelphia, PA. The role involves ensuring the quality, accuracy, accessibility, and security of medical records in both paper and electronic formats.
About the Role
As a Medical Records Assistant, you will be responsible for coding and categorizing patient diagnoses and treatment histories using various classification systems. You will ensure that medical records are maintained in compliance with legal and insurance requirements, while also providing excellent customer service to both the public and staff.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong electronic data entry skills; able to type at least 60 wpm.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with SNOMED CT.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
