Insight Housing is seeking a Men's Shelter Resident Advocate to join their team in Berkeley, CA. The role involves providing operational and support services to clients in the Men's Shelter Program.
About the Role
As a Men's Shelter Resident Advocate, you will work under the supervision of the Program Manager to ensure quality service delivery to shelter clients. Your responsibilities will include maintaining supervision of clients, enforcing program rules, serving meals, facilitating client chores, cleaning facility areas, managing intake processes, and providing emotional support and crisis intervention. You will also participate in meetings, ensure data quality, and adhere to shelter policies and standards.
About You
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to complete CPR/First Aid Training.
Prior direct support experience with individuals experiencing homelessness or related social issues.
Preferred:
Customer service experience in any industry.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
Good verbal and written communication skills.
