Summary
County of Los Angeles is seeking a Mental Health Psychiatrist for Correctional Health Services to provide psychiatric care to the underserved jail population in Los Angeles, CA.
About the Role
As a Mental Health Psychiatrist, you will perform psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, provide clinical consultations, prescribe medications, and participate in quality care evaluations. You will also conduct training for interns and resident physicians and may testify in court as an expert witness.
About You
Required:
- Completion of a residency approved by an American Specialty Board in psychiatry or equivalent training.
- California State Physician and Surgeon's Certificate authorized by the Board of Medical Examiners of the State of California.
Preferred:
- Experience working in correctional health settings.
- Familiarity with the Department of Justice Consent Decree related to mental health care.
