Summary
RI International is seeking a Milieu Specialist to join their team in Durham, NC. The role involves providing de-escalation and support strategies to prevent the use of seclusion and restraint, as well as effective emergency response to maintain safety and security.
About the Role
As a Milieu Specialist, you will be responsible for creating a No-Force-First recovery environment, conducting ongoing observations of individuals, assisting in developing natural supports, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. You will also assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers of individuals, and perform other related duties as assigned.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Active and valid Food Handler’s Certification required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of behavioral health experience, crisis environment preferred.
Preferred:
- Successful completion of Peer Employment Training.
- Security or law enforcement experience.
- Basic computer skills.
- Effective communication skills.
