About the Role

As a MLL and Literacy Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching five 55-minute classes, collaborating in an Inclusive Co-Teaching environment, and developing rigorous instruction tailored to MLL and below 3rd grade reading level students. You will cultivate a strong classroom community, provide targeted interventions, and modify instructional materials as needed. Additionally, you will track student progress, assist with assessments, and manage student behavior using restorative practices.

About You

Required:

Master's Degree in Education, TESOL, Literacy, or a closely related field.
Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, focusing on literacy and/or English Language Learners (ELL).
Deep understanding of literacy development and strategies for English Language Learners and Multilingual Learners (MLL).
Proficient in administering and interpreting assessments such as NYSESLAT and LAB-R.

Preferred:

TESOL certification and bilingual Spanish.
Experience in leadership roles within an educational setting.
Knowledge of current educational research and best practices in literacy and language instruction.
