Summary
Akumin® is seeking an MRI Tech Assistant to join their team in Brewster, NY. The role involves assisting the Remote MRI Technologist in performing imaging services to patients while ensuring high standards of patient care.
About the Role
As an MRI Technologist Assistant, you will assist in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services, maintain patient IV access, administer MR contrast agents, monitor department workflow, and ensure patient safety and comfort during examinations. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, investigating service malfunctions, and assisting with clinical accreditation applications.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- BLS certification or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
- ROCC Assistant Training Certification within 60 days of hire.
- Venous Access Training Certification within 60 days of hire.
- Completion of MRTA course training required prior to initiation of patient care.
- Understanding and practice of MRI safety.
- Excellent people skills and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred:
- ACLS certification.
- Experience as a Medical Assistant, EMT, or Phlebotomist.
- One-year experience in the medical field preferred.
- I.V. skills preferred.
- Familiarity with current software packages such as Google apps, HIS/RIS, and PACS.
