About the Role
The NDE Systems Engineer will manage NDT system components including detectors, software licenses, and data. Responsibilities include creating and managing metrology data, validating design specifications for hardware configurations, resolving technical issues, documenting processes, communicating with teams, supporting shop floor operations, developing mid- and long-term project plans, designing data retention systems, promoting customer satisfaction, planning NDE process activities for new and current products, ensuring safe manufacturing processes, investigating new technologies, assisting in manufacturing problem resolution, pursuing continuous improvement, and acting as a change agent for inspection sequencing. The role also involves defining and controlling Assisted Defect Recognition (ADR) processes, collaborating with NDE personnel and design teams, and managing documentation for NDT and ADR systems.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of information technology and programming experience
- At least 3 additional years of information technology and programming experience
Preferred:
- Software development experience of 1+ years architecting heterogeneous software solutions involving C++
- Experience with Tcl, Python, QT, Windows PowerShell, or applications handling large amounts of data
- Previous NDE experience
- Previous aerospace product manufacturing experience
- Strong background in interpreting engineering drawings/specifications and manufacturing processes
- Experience making data-driven decisions and utilizing Six Sigma and Lean tools
- Knowledge of safety agency regulations
- Ability to manage multiple assignments successfully
- Knowledge of ISO/quality procedures
- Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) programming experience
