Summary
BayNova is seeking a Network Engineer to join their IT Infrastructure Team in support of a federal government customer. This is a hybrid role, primarily performed remotely with 1 to 3 days per week on-site in Alexandria, VA.
About the Role
As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of hybrid enterprise network architecture, maintaining network integrity and compliance, and providing technical support for a large Federal Government agency's network infrastructure. Your role will involve configuring and maintaining cloud-based virtual networks, managing public IP resources, and supporting network automation scripts. You will also document network configurations and provide escalated support for network incidents.
About You
Required:
- 4+ years of network administration experience.
- Proficient in using network management and monitoring platforms such as Riverbed, NetFlow, AWS Network Manager, or equivalent.
- Experience configuring and supporting secure remote access solutions in hybrid environments.
- Experience with cloud-native and virtual network appliances for routing and switching.
- Advanced understanding of TCP/IP including layer 2/3 VLANs and routing protocols.
Preferred:
- Cloud or networking certifications (e.g., AWS Advanced Networking – Specialty, Azure Network Engineer Associate, or Cisco CCNP).
- Experience with enterprise class routers and switches, including installation and configuration.
