Switch is seeking a Network Infrastructure Technician II to join their team in Las Vegas, NV. The role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the physical network infrastructure used by Switch and its customers.
About the Role
As a Network Infrastructure Technician II, you will be responsible for hands-on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of copper, fiber, and coax cabling, as well as supporting service-impacting events in a 24/7/365 environment. Your tasks will include performing circuit installations, testing and certifying cabling, providing remote hands support, and documenting all work in ticketing systems.
About You
Required:
- Hands-on experience installing and supporting network cabling and physical infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of CAT3, CAT5, and CAT6 copper cabling.
- Working knowledge of single-mode and multi-mode fiber.
- Familiarity with ANSI and TIA/EIA cabling standards.
- Basic understanding of transport circuits such as T1 and DS3.
- Basic understanding of network fundamentals and common hardware platforms.
- Experience troubleshooting layer 1 connectivity issues.
- Ability to use ticketing, documentation, and tracking systems.
Preferred:
- Basic computer, typing, and email skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.
