Summary
Novax Recruitment Group is seeking a Nondestructive Testing Engineer to join their team in Portsmouth, VA. The role involves leading advanced inspections and mentoring inspectors across shipyard and marine vessel projects.
About the Role
As a Senior QA–NDT Inspector, you will perform various NDT methods including VT, MT, PT, UT, and advanced NDT techniques. You will lead inspections according to NAVSEA and contract requirements, mentor junior inspectors, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in shipyard environments.
About You
Required:
- 5+ years NDT / QA experience.
- Minimum 4 certifications from: VT, MT, PT, UT, UTT, Shear Wave, CPI/NACE Level II.
- Strong knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items and specifications.
- Proven leadership and mentoring capability.
- Ability to access government facilities.
- Reliable attendance.
Preferred:
- Experience in shipyard or marine vessel environments.
- Experience with DoD or defence-related projects.
- Familiarity with ISO and NAVSEA standards.
