About the Role
As a Nurse Practitioner, IDD Community, you will conduct physical examinations, write prescriptions, communicate with families regarding health changes, evaluate habilitation programs, document medical assessments, coordinate with healthcare providers, perform initial assessments for new admissions, order diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans. This full-time position requires flexibility in scheduling, working Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.
About You
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Valid NY State Nurse Practitioner license.
- One or more years of direct experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of clinical protocols for individuals with intellectual and behavioral challenges.
- Ability to work independently, having completed at least 3,600 hours of supervision in a no collaborative agreement capacity.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and e-prescribing platforms.
Preferred:
- Prior experience working within OPWDD or similar developmental disability programs.
