Oakland County, Michigan Government is seeking a Nutrition Specialist to join their team in Pontiac, MI. The role involves providing nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and community referrals as part of the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program.
About the Role
As a Nutrition Specialist, you will work directly with families to provide nutrition counseling, promote breastfeeding, and perform health screenings in WIC clinics and community settings. Your responsibilities will include developing care plans for eligible families, referring participants to appropriate resources, and maintaining service records.
About You
Required:
Associate's degree in dietetic technician program with clinical or community emphasis approved by the American Dietetic Association.
Registration as a Dietetic Technician with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or a Bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition or Dietetics.
Valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license.
Preferred:
Considerable experience in clinical nutrition.
Knowledge of federal and state food program regulations.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with others.
