Summary
WSP in the U.S. is seeking a NYC Major Project HSE Director to lead the development and implementation of their safety program for a major utility project in the greater New York City area.
About the Role
As the NYC Major Project HSE Director, you will provide strategic HSE guidance, consult with clients on safety planning, manage a team of HSE professionals, review contractor adherence to safety regulations, and ensure compliance with safety standards. You will also develop safety metrics, conduct training, and engage with subcontractors to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in occupational health, safety, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- BCSP Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferred.
- 12+ years of construction HSE experience.
- 5+ years overseeing HSE on large construction projects.
- 5+ years HSE Program Management experience.
- Experience/knowledge of New York State and New York City construction regulations and standards.
- Ability and willingness to travel in the greater NYC region.
Preferred:
- Experience in developing and presenting safety training materials.
- Training certifications such as OSHA 10, 30, and/or 500 series training.
- 40 hr HAZWOPER certification.
- CPR, First Aid, AED, and Blood Borne Pathogens certifications.
