About the Role
As a Sergeant in the Sex Offender Apprehension Unit, you will conduct undercover investigations, perform background checks, document investigative processes, evaluate legal aspects of cases, gather and examine evidence, interview witnesses and suspects, prepare affidavits, participate in raids and arrests, and testify in trials. You will also ensure compliance with agency policies and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
About You
Required:
Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Sixty credit hours from an accredited college or university in criminal justice or a closely related field; experience in investigative law enforcement may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Four years of full-time law enforcement investigative experience.
Knowledge of the Texas Penal Code and other applicable statutes.
Skill in researching and interpreting complex rules and regulations.
Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location and perform all assigned tasks.
Preferred:
Master Peace Officer License (TCOLE).
Experience in Fugitive Investigations.
Knowledge of agency rules, policies, and procedures.
Advanced use of interview and interrogation skills.
