As an On-Call Wildlife Biologist, you will conduct field surveys for special-status species and habitats, perform environmental compliance monitoring, and prepare daily field notes. You will also coordinate with construction crews and evaluate project plans for potential impacts on biological resources.
About You
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Science, or a related field.
3+ years of experience with biological monitoring and field surveys in Santa Cruz and Monterey counties.
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
Preferred:
Experience with special-status amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals.
Federal and state permits for listed or endangered wildlife.
Nesting bird/raptor survey experience.
Experience monitoring construction crews and overseeing environmental compliance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, GPS technology, and field data collection.
