About the Role
As a One to One Paraprofessional, you will work under the supervision of a teacher to assist students with disabilities in their daily activities, including instruction, personal hygiene, and behavior management. You will collaborate with teachers to implement lesson plans and maintain open communication with parents and staff. Your responsibilities may also include assisting with toileting, scribing, and using communication systems.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Forty-eight (48) Credit Hours of College Coursework or an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment or WorkKeys Certificate of Proficiency for Teacher Assistants.
- Experience working with students diagnosed with mild to moderate disabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work with parents, guardians, and educational staff.
- Flexibility to accommodate the needs of students and parents.
- Trained in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA).
- Current authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred:
- Fluency in one of BPS' official languages: Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali.
