About the Role
As an Optical Transport Network Implementation Engineer, you will be responsible for building and operating Google's network reliably and at scale. You will work with various teams to deliver capacity for the NASA region, design and install support for optical transport, and develop creative approaches to keep operational costs low. Your role will also include longhaul project delivery, creating deployment packages, and recommending changes to existing physical infrastructure.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in DWDM or TCP/IP or system design operations methodology.
- Experience working with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunication environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in layer 1 optical transmissions systems, layer 3 routing TCP/IP, wireless networking, network design, or operations.
