About the Role
As an Oracle / Postgres Database Administrator, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, upgrading, and patching Oracle and PostgreSQL database software. Your daily tasks will include monitoring database performance, performing routine maintenance, managing database security, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with development teams to optimize database schemas. You will also document configurations and participate in on-call support for critical database operations.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
- Proven expertise in Oracle database administration, including RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and performance tuning.
- Demonstrable experience with PostgreSQL administration, including replication, partitioning, and performance tuning.
- Solid understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, and database scripting.
Preferred:
- Experience with database backup and recovery strategies and tools.
- Familiarity with cloud database services like AWS RDS or Azure SQL Database.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
