About the Role
About You
- Minimum of one year of experience in outpatient medical records coding in or for a hospital.
- High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in health information management may substitute for one year of experience.
- Current certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
- Thorough knowledge of HCPCS, CPT, and ICD codes; medical terminology; anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Experience using computer applications or automated systems for work assignments.
