About the Role
As an Outpatient Surgery ProFee Coder, you will be responsible for performing the full scope of multi-specialty outpatient clinic, emergency department, minor procedures, radiology, rehabilitation, and lab encounters utilizing ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes. You will work remotely and must have at least 2 years of medical coding experience, preferably with VA. The position offers flexible scheduling and may include a signing bonus for qualified candidates.
About You
Required:
- At least two (2) years of VA or other relevant coding experience.
- Must produce copies of and maintain active credentials as a certified coder.
- Working knowledge of VHA coding guidelines.
- Ability to follow site-specific coding guidelines.
- Familiar with E/M leveling for outpatient and emergency department visits.
Preferred:
- Experience with the VHA’s Surgical Package if applying for a Surgery coder position.
- Active Background Investigation, COI, PIV Card, eToken, and an active VA Contractor’s Citrix Access Account or an active Moonlighter Account.
