Summary
YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Outreach Worker for Youth Programs to assist with providing quality childcare in after-school outreach sites located throughout Needville, TX.
About the Role
As an Outreach Worker, you will be responsible for implementing curriculum, distributing snacks, assisting children with homework, facilitating play, supervising children, creating lesson plans, collecting data for reports, and maintaining positive relations with children and parents. You will act as a role model by exemplifying the YMCA's core values and adhere to program standards including safety and cleanliness.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 18 years of age.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention trainings.
- Minimum one year previous experience working with children in a day camp.
Preferred:
- Experience in outdoor living, archery, boating, camping, songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics, recreational games.
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate program activities.
- Previous experience with diverse populations.
