Summary
Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking an Overnight ICU Veterinary Assistant to join their Emergency team in West Caldwell, NJ. The role involves providing support to Doctors and Veterinary Nurses to ensure excellent patient care in a fast-paced emergency veterinary environment.
About the Role
As an Overnight ICU Veterinary Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting veterinarians and technicians during exams, treatments, and procedures. Your daily tasks will include preparing ER/triage areas, assisting with procedure setup, maintaining cleanliness in surgery and treatment areas, obtaining patient weights and vital signs, and providing routine patient care. You will also be expected to maintain accurate medical records and assist with client instructions as needed.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and proper sanitation/sterilization practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with CPR and rescue breathing.
- Ability to calculate accurate medication dosages and administer injections.
