As a Parent Caregiver, you will assist individuals with disabilities in daily living activities, hygiene, meal preparation, and community access. You will promote the rights and choices of those receiving support, ensuring a safe and respectful environment. The position requires adherence to specific regulations regarding hours worked and responsibilities, particularly for parents of minor children.
About You
Required:
- Experience and education in the field of developmental disabilities or related field preferred.
- Desire and interest in working with people with disabilities or special needs.
- Verbal and written communication skills adequate to the specific job.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Satisfactory background check and obtain Level One Fingerprint Card clearance.
- Reliable transportation to the work site and access to a telephone.
- Must complete training courses in CPR, First Aid, and Article 9.
Preferred:
- Specific language abilities (other than English) may be required to meet the needs of people/families receiving support.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and respect for cultural differences.
