About the Role
As a Parks & Events Support Staff, you will assist with event preparation and support, ensuring cleanliness and accessibility of event spaces, managing waste disposal, and maintaining restroom facilities during events. You will also perform various park maintenance duties, including mowing, cleaning, and operating maintenance equipment, while coordinating with the Community Events team and District Supervisor.
About You
Required:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Ability to get to various Parks and Public Lands facilities.
Preferred:
- Experience in maintenance and landscaping.
- Experience working for a city municipal park.
- Experience operating light or heavy-duty equipment, including open and enclosed trailers.
- Prior experience in event setup, maintenance, or related field preferred.
- Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 80 lbs.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and evenings as required by event schedules.
- Ability to safely operate a truck while towing a trailer, including navigating downtown and high-traffic areas.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English required; Spanish proficiency preferred.
