About the Role
As a Part-Time Fire Investigator, you will conduct timely field visits to loss sites, provide unbiased analysis on fires and explosions, and write detailed reports on your findings. You will interact closely with clients, handle sensitive information, and may need to provide expert testimony in court. The position requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to travel within a 100-mile radius for investigations.
About You
Required:
- CFEI certification through NAFI, or CFI certification through IAAI.
- Ability to obtain a Private Investigator License in the assigned state(s) within 60 days of employment.
- Familiarity with NFPA 921 and NFPA 1033 requirements.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in fire origin and cause investigations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred:
- Previous expert testimony or deposition experience.
- Degree or some college coursework.
- Experience with writing detailed investigation reports.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
