Outreach is seeking a Part-time Junior High Teacher for their summer program in Warrenville, IL. The role involves supporting junior high students academically and developing life skills.
About the Role
As a Part-time Junior High Teacher, you will work with the Junior High Program Coordinator to facilitate learning for students in grades 6-8. Your responsibilities will include classroom instruction, facilitating service-learning activities, life skills instruction, recreational activities, and supervising students on field trips. You will also maintain communication with parents and uphold classroom behavior standards.
About You
Required:
BA in Education or a related field.
A passion for working with junior high students.
Classroom or group experience with adolescents.
A current, valid IL driver's license with a good driving record.
Preferred:
Previous classroom teaching or group experience.
Previous experience with curriculum development and lesson planning.
Experience with and sensitivity to the needs of students from low-income, high-risk families.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
