About the Role
As a Part-time Paraeducator, you will assist in special education classes, providing support to the instructional leader and students. Your responsibilities will include helping to lift and assist students, participating in staff development, and ensuring compliance with educational requirements. You will work under the supervision of the program supervisor of special education.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Hold a PA Paraeducator Credential of Competency Certificate or be willing to complete the online program within 6 months of hire.
- Completed a minimum of 48 post-secondary credits in any content area or completed an associate degree or higher in any content area.
- Willing to complete 20 hours of staff development each school year.
Preferred:
- Experience working with children with autism or special needs.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
