About the Role
As a Part-Time Underwater Acoustics Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for understanding acoustic propagation, designing acoustic receivers and arrays, and performing signal processing tasks including filtering and beamforming. You will also develop tracking from acoustic detection data and engage in modeling and simulation using MatLab or other acoustic modeling tools. This position requires a commitment of approximately 25% of your time for the duration of the program, which is expected to last up to 12 months.
About You
Required:
- BS in Engineering or a scientific discipline.
- Secret clearance with the ability to be cleared to higher levels.
Preferred:
- Experience in acoustic receiver and array design.
- Knowledge of signal processing techniques including time and frequency difference of arrival.
- Modeling and simulation experience with MatLab or similar tools.
