The Goodkind Group, LLC is seeking a Patent Specialist/Intellectual Property to join their team in Newark, NJ. The role involves preparing and managing a wide range of intellectual property documents and ensuring compliance with patent and trademark filing procedures.

About the Role

As a Patent Specialist, you will prepare, revise, and finalize various IP documents, perform electronic filings with the USPTO and other offices, draft and proofread legal correspondence, manage attorney dockets, process client billing, coordinate attorney travel, and handle daily administrative tasks. You will also provide backup support to other Patent Assistants and assist in preparing reports and presentations.

About You

Required:

Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Legal Assistant in the patent and intellectual property field.
Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. and foreign patent and trademark prosecution procedures.
Strong experience preparing IP-related documents and performing USPTO e-filings.
Advanced proofreading and editing skills, with close attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven legal environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and a professional demeanor.
Demonstrated ability to work independently.
