About the Role
As a Patient Safety Associate, you will be responsible for rounding in behavioral health units, engaging with patients, and promoting a safe and therapeutic environment. You will collaborate with clinical teams to ensure safety and support during psychiatric emergencies, requiring critical thinking and the ability to manage stressful situations.
About You
Required:
- HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
- 2 years of experience working in a Behavioral Health setting, corrections, or healthcare facility.
- Training in WELLE or obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or obtains it within 90 days of hire.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Capacity to manage stressful situations and react appropriately during psychiatric emergencies.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred:
- Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, or another related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience working as a security guard.
- Experience as a trainer or educator, particularly on topics regarding safety and de-escalation.
