About the Role
As a Part-Time Peer Mentor, you will be responsible for fostering positive relationships with program participants, assisting clients with their assignments, and connecting them to community resources. You will also participate in team meetings, ongoing training, and help create a volunteer peer mentor program for the Court.
About You
Required:
- Minimum High School Diploma or educational equivalent.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
Preferred:
- OASAS/OMH Peer Specialist Certification or peer specialist training such as Howie the Harp Peer Advocacy and Training Center Peer Specialist Program.
- Experience using cognitive behavioral therapies, motivational interviewing and/or positive youth development.
Benefits
- $23/hour wage.
- Flexible part-time schedule of 21 hours per week.
