Telecare Corporation is seeking a Peer Support Specialist - Mental Health to join their team in San Mateo, CA. The role involves engaging and facilitating meaningful conversations with members to assist them in exploring and meeting their recovery goals.
About the Role
As a Peer Support Specialist, you will engage, inspire, and facilitate meaningful conversations with members served, helping them to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. You will provide consultation to the team to promote Telecare's Recovery Culture and respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills, supporting a least restrictive environment for individuals experiencing mental health or addiction challenges.
About You
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Peer Certification must be maintained throughout employment
California: obtain Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA prior to date of hire and maintained throughout employment
Experience as a beneficiary of the Behavioral Health system of care
Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver
Willingness to use the company vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups
