Community Bridges, Inc. is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join their team in Mesa, AZ. The role involves providing one-on-one support and assistance for individuals experiencing crisis, opioid use disorder, homelessness, and mental illness.
About the Role
As a Peer Support Specialist, you will perform duties that address the support needs of clients, helping them with day-to-day problem-solving related to normalization and reintegration into the community. You will utilize best practices of assertive engagement, harm reduction, and peer support, while promoting a safe and inclusive recovery environment.
About You
Required:
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of six months’ experience in Behavioral Health and/or Substance Abuse field.
Minimum of six months of recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders.
Current AZ Driver’s License (Valid and in good standing).
Clear 39-month Motor Vehicle Record.
Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) or able to obtain CPSS certification within 90 days of hire.
Preferred:
Addiction and Substance Use Disorders certification.
