About the Role
As a Per Diem Interpreter for ASL, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers, assisting with appointment scheduling, and participating in community outreach events. You will maintain records of daily activities and work collaboratively with other interpreters and departments to improve service delivery. Additionally, you will assist in training and mentoring colleagues and maintain professional competency through continuing education.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Interpreting or a related field.
- National Certification by Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (NIC, CI/CT, etc.) or MCDHH state screened.
- Experience in interpreting in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and pharmacology.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of healthcare policies and the interpreters Code of Professional Conduct.
- Ability to maintain formal documentation systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Enthusiastic and high sense of teamwork.
