About the Role
As a Permits & Rights-of-Way Specialist, you will be responsible for negotiating and managing rights-of-way for construction and utilities, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. Your duties will include preparing documents for the Tribal Council, conducting land records research, coordinating field assessments, managing crossing permits, and supervising Lands Technicians. You will also maintain knowledge of applicable laws and participate in a supportive team environment.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- AA/AS in Business or relevant field and 2 years of experience in land-related legal documents OR 4 years of relevant experience.
- 4 years of experience reading and interpreting legal descriptions and maps.
- 2 years of supervisory experience.
- 2 years of experience with the Code of Federal Regulations and/or Tribal regulations.
- 2 years of experience in construction or surface disturbing project management.
- Computer experience including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Valid Driver's license and insurable under Tribal Vehicle Insurance Policy.
- Pass a thorough criminal history background check and pre-employment drug test.
Preferred:
- Experience with Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, and GIS/ARCMAP.
- International Right of Way Association certifications or equivalent.
- Knowledge of the Southern Ute Indian Reservation and Tribal natural resources.
