Jobsity is seeking a Senior PHP Developer to join their team in Latin America. The role involves maintaining and refactoring legacy PHP systems, contributing to architectural decisions, and advocating for best practices in backend and fullstack development.
About the Role
As a Senior PHP Developer, you will dive into legacy systems, untangle technical debt, and help evolve monolithic applications toward modern standards. You will collaborate with the Lead Engineer and work across teams to ensure stability, performance, and clean integrations in a complex environment. Your responsibilities will include applying SOLID design principles, contributing to client-side development, and developing scalable APIs and integrations.
About You
Required:
- 6+ years’ experience in PHP development (or 8 years in relevant experience) and a background in Computer Science.
- Proficiency in MySQL and creating unit tests for high-quality, testable code.
- Familiarity with Apache server configuration and source control tools.
- Strong understanding of design patterns, security considerations, and code review best practices.
Preferred:
- Experience with Yii PHP Framework (versions 1.1 and 2.2).
- Knowledge of Bootstrap or Foundation CSS frameworks.
- Experience with Test Driven Development and Nginx.
- Knowledge of AWS services (e.g., EC2, Auto Scaling, RDS) and AzureDevOps CI/CD pipelines.
