About the Role
As a Physical Education Teacher - SPED, you will implement and provide regularly scheduled health and physical education classes to physically restricted and/or intellectually challenged students. You will organize, lead, instruct, and referee indoor and outdoor games, and provide developmentally appropriate classroom instruction according to IEP/IPP goals. You will also assess students' academic achievement, maintain communication with staff and parents, and participate in professional development activities.
About You
Required:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree; preferably in Health/Physical Education.
- Hold a current Virginia or out-of-state teaching license in Health and Physical Education.
Preferred:
- At least three years of experience in a classroom situation.
- Hold a current VA Driver's License.

Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare, located in Staunton, Va., provides trauma-informed psychiatric residential treatment for young men. Our continuum of care is intended to meet the needs of adolescent males, ages 12 to 18, who are experiencing complex emotional, behavioral, and educational difficulties. Programs are specifically designed for youth with psychiatric disorders and co-occurring intellectual disabilities. We also specialize in working with young men who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
