Orlando Health is seeking a Physician Coder (I, II, & Sr) to join their team in Orlando, FL. The role involves accurately coding and billing professional physician services across various specialties.
About the Role
As a Physician Coder, you will be responsible for reviewing medical records and coding physician services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS classification systems. You will verify billable services, collaborate with specialty teams to monitor financial goals, and assist with patient account follow-ups to maximize reimbursement. The position requires maintaining a high accuracy rate and effective communication with healthcare providers.
About You
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Computer/typing literacy, knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical terminology.
Thorough knowledge of CPT and ICD coding with a coding skills test score of 80% or better.
One (1) year coding experience for Physician Coder I, three (3) years for Physician Coder II, and five (5) years for Sr. Physician Coder.
Preferred:
Proficient in multi-specialty E/M coding.
Knowledge of surgical coding.
Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or similar.
