About the Role
As a Police Communications Operator, you will be responsible for receiving calls from the public and county 911 operators, questioning callers to gather details, determining response requirements, and assigning priorities to incidents. You will dispatch information to responding troopers and contact relevant agencies for assistance. Additionally, you will maintain records in electronic systems and communicate with other officers regarding active incidents.
About You
Required:
- Two years of experience using two-way radio, multi-line telephone, or computer aided dispatch systems.
- Two years of experience using computer systems for entering, updating, and retrieving information.
- Completion of 60 college credits or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Preferred:
- Active Public Safety Telecommunicator certification.
- Active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) and Pennsylvania Justice Network (JNET) certifications.
