About the Role
As a Police Service Specialist Cadet, you will work at the police front desk, interact with the public, conduct preliminary investigations, complete traffic crash reports, and administer preliminary breath tests. You will undergo an evaluation period for a maximum of 12 months before attending a regional police academy, with the City covering tuition and associated costs. Upon successful completion of the academy, you will be hired as an entry-level police officer and must complete the field training officer program.
About You
Required:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have a valid Driver's License
- Must be 21 years or older at the start of the FTO program (10 months from date of hire)
- 45 credit hours from an accredited college
Benefits
- Starting pay of $18.73 per hour ($38,958.40 annually)
- City covers the cost for police academy tuition and associated costs, excluding room/board and food
