About the Role
As a Political Correspondent, you will be the lead political journalist for Courier Newsroom in Nebraska. Your responsibilities include breaking and explaining local and state political news, developing media content tailored to specific audiences, and building a trusted presence across social platforms. You will manage a weekly newsletter and create multimedia content while collaborating with various teams to ensure consistent messaging.
About You
Required:
- 5+ years of political reporting or political content creation.
- Deep understanding of Nebraska's political landscape and community dynamics.
- Strong writing/reporting skills with the ability to translate complex politics into accessible storytelling.
Preferred:
- Experience creating content for social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube).
- Comfort on camera and willingness to appear in videos or host short-form segments.
- Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Emplifi, Descript.
