The City of Long Beach is seeking a Port Compliance Officer (Finance) to join their Finance team. This role involves leading the internal controls function, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with Port administrative directives and policies.
About the Role
As a Port Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for planning and conducting audits of financial transactions, updating policies and procedures, and recommending controls for identified weaknesses. You will perform annual risk assessments, provide compliance training, and manage financial systems access requests while collaborating with internal staff and external stakeholders.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Three or more years of relevant experience in internal control compliance audits/reviews.
- Knowledge of general accounting concepts and internal control principles.
- A minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
Preferred:
- Professional certification such as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

- Salary range: $129k–$182k.
