About the Role
As a Power Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for system evaluation and design, power supply topology selection, system modeling, lab testing, directing PCB design, and supporting demonstration and evaluation activities. You will work on tactical and handheld devices, higher power microgrids, and large power converters, while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to develop leading-edge techniques for power conversion.
About You
Required:
- Doctoral degree or MA degree and 3-5+ years of direct experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field with a strong background in physical sciences.
- Experience in power electronics and controls, and proficiency in modeling tools such as Simulink, Typhoon-HIL, Ansys, or Spice circuit modeling.
- Proficiency in a high-level programming language such as Python or MATLAB/Simulink.
- Hands-on lab experience with high power measurement, circuit design, PCB layout/rework, and utilizing test equipment.
Preferred:
- Experience in power circuit modeling, power converter design and controls, battery selection, system integration, and testing.
- Experience with real-time simulations with inverter-based resources (BESS, PV) within microgrids.
