About the Role
As a Practice Coding Specialist, you will be responsible for coding procedures, entering charges, and coordinating with the Practice Coordinator and Revenue Integrity to ensure all necessary documentation is present. You will participate in audits to evaluate the accuracy of selected codes and develop methodologies to improve coding issues identified.
About You
Required:
- Must have a coding credential (RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS, RN).
- Must have a minimum of 2 years hospital and/or physician practice coding experience or successful completion of the one-year Revenue Integrity Internship Program.
- Demonstrated communication skills and an ability to work independently and deal effectively with various types of personnel.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Preferred:
- B.S. degree in Nursing, Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in a hospital and/or physician practice setting.
