About the Role
As a Principal Power Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of power electronic systems, including converters, inverters, and control systems. Your tasks will include defining technical requirements, conducting analysis and simulations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, performing design verification and testing, applying Design for X methodologies, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and mentoring junior engineers.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in the design and development of power electronic systems.
- Expertise in designing high-frequency switching power converters, inverters, and DC/DC converters.
- Proficiency in simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, MathCAD, PSpice, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of thermal management, EMI considerations, and reliability engineering principles.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in guiding engineering teams.
- Must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree (MBA or PhD).
- Magnetic component design experience.
- Experience in digital control of power electronic systems.
- Working knowledge of military standards for power quality and EMI.
- Experience with OSHA and NFDA 70E Electrical Safe Work practices.
- Medium voltage design experience.
