Summary
Uncommon Schools is seeking a Principal Fellow to join their team in Newark, NJ. The role involves training and developing future school leaders to co-lead high-performing schools.
About the Role
As a Principal Fellow, you will be immersed in the daily operations of an Uncommon school, receiving feedback and professional development to prepare for a Principal role. You will work closely with a Host Principal and the Senior Director of School Support to develop skills in instructional leadership, teacher development, school culture, and family engagement. The fellowship includes monthly professional development sessions and cohort-specific workshops to enhance your leadership capabilities.
About You
Required:
- At least 3 years of teaching experience with evidence of outstanding student growth and achievement.
- At least 1 year of experience coaching, leading, and/or managing teachers.
- A Bachelor's degree.
Preferred:
- Experience teaching core subjects (e.g., Math, ELA, Science, History).
- Familiarity with Uncommon's core tenets of instructional leadership.
