Summary
Leonardo DRS is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their Engineering team in Menomonee Falls, WI. The role involves taking on a technical leadership position in projects related to design, packaging, and shock isolation for naval power electronics assemblies.
About the Role
As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for driving technology and ensuring project completion on time and within budget. You will independently complete technical projects, mentor other engineers, review customer specifications, document component requirements, evaluate supplier components, develop prototypes, and communicate with various stakeholders.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 10+ years relevant experience with design and packaging of medium to large power electronics or conversion systems.
- Understanding of vibration, acoustics, and thermal analysis for high power electronics packaging to meet military environments.
- Experience with 3-D CAD, thermal modeling, simulation and analysis with CFD packages.
Preferred:
- 3D CAD experience, NX preferred.
- Knowledgeable of design/production of bus bars, aluminum and steel enclosures.
- Design optimization of noise, thermal, and EMI design parameters.
