Foghorn Therapeutics Inc. is seeking a Principal Scientist, Drug Product Development to join their team in Cambridge, MA. The role involves leading the development of specialty drug delivery technologies and executing assessments for complex injectables and solid oral dosage forms.
About the Role
As a Principal Scientist in Drug Product Development, you will take a leadership role in the development of innovative drug delivery technologies. You will be responsible for leading and executing assessments of various drug delivery technologies to support Foghorn's portfolio at both preclinical and clinical stages. This includes overseeing CMC laboratory activities and collaborating with cross-functional teams, as well as supporting clinical formulation development and regulatory filings.
About You
Required:
- PhD in chemical engineering, pharmaceutics, chemistry, material science or related field.
- 5+ years of industry experience in drug delivery areas or formulation/drug delivery experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in long-acting injectables (LAI).
Preferred:
- Prior experience with long acting or targeted drug delivery technologies such as nanosuspensions, liposomes, or PLGA microspheres.
- Excellent scientific knowledge in formulation technologies, material science, chemistry, and formulation sciences.
- Laboratory skills in various drug delivery platforms and analytical characterization.
- Ability to learn rapidly and adapt to fast-paced environments.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
