Summary
Raytheon is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer [BMS] to join their team in Fort Wayne, IN. The role focuses on developing complex systems in C++ for the Battle Management Software (BMS) Department.
About the Role
As a Principal Software Development Engineer, you will design, develop, and test software based on trouble reports in an agile environment, collaborate with systems engineers to implement system modifications, and align with Agile and DevSecOps principles for high-frequency deployments.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant software development experience.
- Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using C, C++ or Ada.
- Experience with scripting languages (C shell, Perl).
- Experience using debugging tools to identify and fix software bugs.
Preferred:
- Prior experience on missile defense programs such as XBR, AN/TPY-2, or COBRA DANE.
- Experience working in Agile environments like scrum and DevSecOps.
- Ability to travel to customer sites (up to 50%) for software build install and test.
- Experience with tools such as Atlassian Suite, Jenkins, Eclipse, and Ansible.
- Knowledge of Redhat and Linux Operating Systems.
