Summary
Microsoft is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join their team in Redmond, WA. The role involves building a planet-scale multi-modal database and infrastructure for executing agents, integrating AI into all parts of the stack.
About the Role
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will lead a team of engineers, responsible for operating services for large enterprise customers. Your tasks will include coding in C++, C#, or Java, debugging distributed systems, and mentoring engineers. You will also ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLA) and manage live site operations.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C++, C#, or Java.
- Ability to independently execute in ambiguous situations and lead design document development.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C++, C#, or Java.
- Experience in shipping products and reliable, scalable services.
- Hands-on experience with asynchronous programming and concurrency.
- Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), and/or Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
- Experience in building database engines and AI systems at scale.
